Rusty Smith has over 20 years of experience as a trial litigator. Rusty grew up in Ardmore, OK, where he learned how important it is to work hard and work together. Rusty has been a lifelong Sooners fan, and he graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1999 before earning his law degree from OU in 2002.
Professionally, Rusty specializes in complex litigation and insurance, having spent the first 8 years of his career defending insurance companies. Since 2010, Rusty has built a successful trial plaintiff practice, having won several significant jury verdicts and appeals for both private clients and corporations. He's handled cases in almost 70 counties across the state, also litigating in multiple federal jurisdictions across the country.
Rusty's practice centers on life-changing accidents, catastrophic injuries, wrongful death cases, and civil litigation matters. He is a member of the Oklahoma Association of Justice, serving as a member of the advisory board in 2020. In 2022, Rusty was selected to Super Lawyers, an honor going to the top 5% of attorneys in the state.
Rusty is licensed to practice in all state courts in Oklahoma, and the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern, Northern, and Western districts of Oklahoma. Rusty is also qualified to practice in the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, the Cherokee Nation Bar Association, and the Muscogee (Creek) Nation Bar Association.
Michael Barkett spent his childhood in Tulsa, OK, and he was the first in his family to graduate from college. He earned his degree from the University of Oklahoma, and he obtained his law degree from OU in 1994. Mike started his legal career working with a top defense law firm in Oklahoma City, OK, and his years working for the defense has given him a unique perspective.
Now, Mike has over 25 years of experience as a trial lawyer, and he specializes in representing victims of life-impacting accidents, medical malpractice, catastrophic injuries, wrongful death, and civil rights violations. He's tried over 75 cases to jury verdict, and he's not afraid of tough cases. His results include settlements up to seven figures including a $20 million unanimous jury verdict in the case of the death of an infant.
Mike is a founding partner of Smith Barkett Law Group, and he's been recognized as a Super Lawyer every year since 2008. He's also been named the Best of the Best Attorneys annually since 2011, and he's been given America's Top 100 Attorneys Lifetime Achievement Award among other accolades. Larry D. Moore served two terms as Muskogee County District Attorney. He graduated from Northeastern University with a degree in history before earning his law degree in 1988 from the University of Tulsa. He was an assistant district attorney of Muskogee County from 1988 until 1997, and he was appointed First District Attorney. He also received the award for Oklahoma State Wildlife Prosecutor of the Year.
Larry left the DA's office in 1997 and joined a well-known private Muskogee law firm. In private practice, Larry gained experience with a wide range of general litigation including family law, criminal defense, and personal injury. While he enjoyed private practice, Larry felt called back to public service and was elected as Muskogee County District Attorney from 2008 to 2014.
Serving in this capacity was a great honor for Larry, and he also worked as a district attorney with the FBI violent task force. He was also a certified CLEET instructor for the Muskogee Police Department, and he was an advisor to Muskogee County municipality law enforcement agencies. Larry worked as an adjunct instructor in criminal justice for Connors State College, and he's currently the Town Attorney for Fort Gibson, OK.
Larry lives in Fort Gibson, OK, and he's been married to his wife, Michelle, for 39 years. Larry loves spending time with his two children and four grandchildren. Larry's specialties include family law, criminal defense, probate, personal injury, and guardianship cases. He's licensed to practice in the State of Oklahoma and the United States Eastern District Court.
Steve McClellan has spent his whole life in northeastern Oklahoma, and he grew up just outside Tulsa in Broken Arrow. He attended the University of Oklahoma for his undergraduate and law degrees, and he graduated in 1994. From here, he started his legal career representing injured workers in the Oklahoma Workers Compensation Court.
After this, Steve returned to the Tulsa area, and he worked to defend civil injury cases and casualty claims in both district and federal courts in Oklahoma. He tried many successful cases with jury verdicts.
Now, Steve has over 25 years of experience. In addition to representing injured workers, he's defended trucking companies and insurance carriers in cases of catastrophic injury and death. He's also worked on cases of construction defects and product liability. By working for the defense, Steve knows the techniques, strategies, and common issues that arise.

Outside court, Steve loves being married to his high school sweetheart, Debbie. They've been together for over 34 years, and they have three sons, three handsome grandsons, and two beautiful granddaughters.
